Three days to Giga Con
If you’re in the DC area this Friday and Saturday, swing by the National Building Museum for the first ever Giga Con! It’s our very own Convention by the Media Arts & Animation (MAA) Program here at AiW, having evolved out of the Media Arts & Animation Forum we’ve been hosting for the past few years. Here’s the poster our students put together:

We have a diverse gathering of media pros this year. Some of the guests, like Brian Muelhaupt, Sam Ellis, David Silva and Garette Johnson, have graciously participated in our MAA Forum over the last couple of years. They’re back this year, along with some new folks we’re equally excited to have: Joe Weatherly, Sue Jang, Maasa Kuwana-Muelhaupt, David Colman, Ajit Menon, Rony Edde, and of course, our former faculty member Jesse Cowan.
There are some fascinating demos by these folks on both days, and I wish I could attend all of them! One that’s definitely on my radar is “Shape Exploration in character design” by David Colman. Just read these posts on his blog, and you’ll see why.
Here’s the full schedule of demos (word doc). See you there!
